Lycoris Recoil is an anime following two girls that are part of a secret organization in Japan, tasked with keeping the public safe. The charm of the show comes from the scenes about their part-time jobs when they aren’t stopping criminals: they work in a small coffee cafe in Tokyo called LycoReco!

This is one of my favorite animes. I watched it when it first came out in 2022, and I have been patiently waiting for a second season to release. As a fan of the series - and coffee lover - I wanted to create a fabricated collaboration with their coffee shop. And so, their signature “LycoReco Matcha Latte” was born!

The logo comes straight from the show, but everything else was crafted by me. I made the wrapper in Illustrator and modeled the cans, leaves, and environment in Blender. Finally, I moved over to After Effects for the text and compositing. I gave myself a strict 24 hours to complete this advertisement, which includes the modeling, textures, animation, and render. It not only tests my skills in a short period of time, but also simulates an intense deadline I now know I can make.
